The Alpha 3 is a work horse of thinner material rolling. It has all the features of the heavy duty Kappa line but it covers the
range of thinner materials, the Kappa line is not able to. All its three rolls are powered in rotation so it can do cone rolling very
well on thinner materials.
Machine Standard Features:
· Frame built of laser cut high strength steel, welded, stress relieved and sand blasted.
· All UL listed GE electrical components or equivalent installed in a UL listed NEMA 12 equivalent electrical cabinet with master breaker
· Hydraulic unit by Rexroth and valves by Aron
· Hardened rolls to HRC 54-56
· Daylight between top and bending rolls = thickness capacity at 3xTR+3mm or 0.118 “ at 350 N/mm² or 50.000 psi yield strength
· Three driven rolls, top and bending rolls
· Three extended rolls to accept section forming tooling
· Powered lifting of bending rolls
· Bending rolls assembled on bearings

The Alpha 4 brings the lower range of thickness capacity of the plate rolls at COMAL ITALIA.
Its largest size has a roll of 7" (180mm) diameter and the Kappa 4 model starts at 8.500" (220mm) diameter.
It has been designed to specifically cater to the shops which roll thinner materials.
The Alpha 4 has the top and the pinching roll powered in rotation, whereas the Kappa 4 has the top roll and the bending rolls powered in rotation, because the thicker material with higher bending forces contribute more
to the friction component of the force used in pushing the plate through the rolls as compared to the friction force supplied by the thin material being formed on Alpha machines.
